.072
seconds
over
2nd

3rd

final
–
0.27
seconds
behind
1st
-
lapped
traffic
became
an
issue
two
laps
from
the
end.
Jacob
-
while
running
2nd
in a
nose-to-bumper
in 3
kart
breakaway
draft,
was
forced
to
swing
wide
in
the
“horseshoe”
turn
to
avoid
contact
with
a
lapped
kart.
Allowing
3rd
to
move
into
2nd.
Both
lost
contact
with
the
leader.
Jacob
turned
the
fastest
official
lap
of
the
day
in
the
final
@

Jacob's
Quote:
“The
kart
handled
great
and
the
Pitts
power
was
awesome!
I
made
a
mistake
in
the
final
trying
to
pass
lapped
traffic
on
the
outside
of
the
horseshoe.
I
didn’t
expect
the
lapper
to
swing
wide
and
had
to
run
off
track
to
avoid
a
major
collision.
That
opened
the
door
for
third
to
pass
me
and
caused
us
both
to
lose
the
three-kart
draft.
I
know
we
would
have
been
there
at
the
end
and
had
the
power
to
win
the
race.”

2nd
in
final
–
0.102
seconds
behind
1st
–
lapped
traffic
was
once
again
an
issue
–
this
time
as 1st
and 2nd
(tight
two-kart
draft)
came
down
the
front
straight
toward
the
start/finish
line
to
take
the
white
flag
a
very
slow
lapper
(whose
best
lap
was
more
than
19
full
seconds
slower
than
the
leaders)
–
suddenly
swerved
right.
Jacob
was
forced
to
swerve
completely
off
the
track
to
avoid
a
major
impact.
Jacob
lost
the
lead
kart
draft
in
the
process
dropping
nearly
three
seconds
behind
1st.
Jacob
crossed
the
finish
line
in 2nd
0.102
seconds
behind
1st.
Jacob
again
set
fast
official
lap
of
the
day
with
a
55.929
– the
only
HPV-1
below
the
56.0-second
mark.

Jacob's
Quote:
“Once
again
our
kart
handled
great
and
our
Pitts
engine
was
fast.
I
chose
the
inside
line
coming
out
of
the
last
turn
planning
to
take
the
lead
going
into
the
first
turn
of
the
last
lap.
My
kart
was
definitely
faster
and I
was
intentionally
waiting
until
the
last
lap
to
make
my
move.
Unfortunately
I
didn’t
count
on
that
lapped
kart
making
a
huge
right
turn
directly
in
front
of me
as I
was
about
to
pass
him.
We’d
already
lapped
him 3
times
without
a
problem.
It
was
my
fault
for
not
anticipating
such
a
move
from
a
beginner
who
was
trying
his
best
to
stay
out
of
the
way.
That’s
racing.”
Jacob
continued;
“My
thanks
to
Jay &
Josh
from
Pitts
Performance
for
all
their
help
this
weekend.
I’m
really
excited
about
our
2007
season
and
can’t
wait
to
fasten
this
awesome
Pitts
power
to
our
new
chassis.”
